Acupuncture is one of the classical treatments that has been performed from ancient times. The treatment is very natural and simple, only inserting needles into the certain area of the body’s surface. For this reason, in general, it is not suitable for serious illnesses which require chemical or surgical interventions. On the other hand, it is not uncommon that acupuncture shows significant effects on the chronic illnesses which Western medicine often can’t treat from the root but only manage the symptoms, such as stiff neck, lower-back ache, chronic fatigue, irregular or painful periods.

Cosmetic Acupuncture's aim is to improve the condition of the skin by adjusting the balance of the systems of the whole body, and by focusing on the face .
The condition of the skin reflects your internal health. By treating the whole body internally at the same time, you will get the maximal results. For example, stress is the most common cause for inflamation; dyhydration can lead to breakouts and wrinkles. By managing stress through acupuncture your skin should glow again.
Acupuncture promotes the production new collagen fibres in the skin. Collagen ... elastin ... hyaluronic acid ... familiar names? They are common substances found in your cosmetic products that are supposed to induce cell regeneration. However, your skin's surface is highly waterproof, and protects you from chemicals and radiation. Unfortunately, most anti-ageing products cannot reach the skin's deeper layer. But acupuncture can stimulate these cells to produce the important anti-ageing substances by themselves!
Inserting needles into the facial skin causes micro-trauma in the dermis, the deeper layer of skin. This micro-trauma induces a physiological response called the wound-healing response. The cells in the deep layer of the skin called fibroblasts gather and work to regenerate the injured skin. In this process, the fibroblasts produce the new collagen fibres, elastin, hyaluronic acid and other substances while destroying the old broken collagen fibres. After a few months a completely new extra-cellular matrix is made. By regenerating this matrix, facial acupuncture makes your skin look young and beautiful!

The aim of community style acupuncture is to make acupuncture accessible for many more people. I will offer acupuncture treatment to multiple patients per hour at a more open space. This allows me to charge on a sliding scale of $40-80 or Pay What You Can.
